The bold, the bright — and the best
Attend two of today’s top sessions: the Residents and Fellows Symposium and Resident Jeopardy.

This morning, the Academy turns the spotlight on up-and-coming dermatologists who will present research on emerging concepts. The S022 – Residents and Fellows Symposium will feature the top 18 projects selected from a pool of more than 100 applicants.
Cory A. Dunnick, MD, FAAD, will introduce the presenting residents and fellows, and they will each have eight minutes to share highlights and outcomes of their research. Topics include sex-associated genetic mutations in melanoma, the gut’s role in atopic dermatitis, and the pathogenesis of steatocystoma multiplex, plus trends in consumer tanning and skin cancer under age 50 — and much more!
The symposium will conclude with a ceremony to recognize this year’s Everett C. Fox Award winners for most outstanding clinical and basic science abstracts. The recipients, once announced, will split the $3,500 cash award.
Later this afternoon, dermatology residents will compete for pride — and a trophy — at the ever-popular S038 – Resident Jeopardy. Teams will participate in the interactive game show format, answering Jeopardy!-style queries and image-based prompts that encompass the breadth of the specialty. Michael Stephens, MD, FAAD, of Massachusetts General Hospital, will lead the tournament.
Attendees can witness the mostly friendly competition or join in the fun as they play along and put their own expertise to the test. This exciting event is also a great chance to network with colleagues of all career levels from various institutions.
