On Thursday, Aug. 1, two sessions will help you shape your dermatology practice. Be sure to attend C001 – Navigating Practice Management in Dermatology: Insights and Innovations and E001 – Branding and the Business of Dermatology to learn and immediately apply new ideas to sustain your practice well into the future.
The AAD Innovation Academy would not be complete without F001 – Future of Dermatology Symposium, which will feature ground-breaking abstracts. These game-changers come from academia, industry, private practice, and the tech field and have expertise in therapeutics, cosmetics, molecular technologies, AI, telemedicine, and mobile and imaging technologies.
The session includes speaker James Weinstein, DO, MS, senior vice president of Microsoft Healthcare, where he leads strategy, innovation, and health equity. Dr. Weinstein is a member of the National Academy of Medicine, immediate past CEO/president of Dartmouth Health, has received numerous accolades, and has published more than 350 peer-reviewed papers. His expertise and insights will offer valuable perspectives on the intersection of health care and technology.
On Aug. 1, we will have a very special keynote speaker at 5 p.m. Diana Nyad, renowned for her historic 110.86-mile swim from Cuba to Florida, epitomizes resilience and determination. She demonstrated to the world the power of the human spirit when she spoke the words, “Never ever give up” to a cheering crowd on a Key West beach in September 2013, and she continues to inspire others as a public speaker.
Following Nyad’s presentation, AAD President Seemal R. Desai, MD, FAAD, will deliver the Presidential Update, giving insight into the AAD’s recent successes and the challenges in the year ahead.
And don’t leave without stopping by the Welcome Reception, 5:45-7:30 p.m. in the Experience Hub. Take in some food, refreshments, photo ops, and your first look at exhibits. Throughout the meeting be sure to come back to the Experience Hub often for additional learning opportunities, Industry Sessions, networking, and refreshment breaks — and of course the exhibits!
